Press Release – ORC Utility and Infrastructure Land Services Appoints Michael J. Sturm to lead the Business Development Organization

ORC Utility and Infrastructure Land Services, LLC (ORC U&I) is proud to welcome Michael J. Sturm as our new Division Sales Manager. In this capacity, Michael will assist all ORC U&I Regional Operations with business development activities, as ORC U&I strengthens and expands its presence in the utility sector. Mr. Sturm’s experience and in-depth understanding of the Utility and Pipeline industries will greatly enhance our operational goals.

Prior to joining ORC U&I, Mr. Sturm was the Director of Business Development at Contract Land Staff, overseeing business development across the entire western United States. Mr. Sturm has more than 20 years of experience helping companies expand their businesses nationally and internationally, in dozens of unique markets.

Mr. Sturm earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering, and a Master of Science degree in Materials Science & Engineering, from The Ohio State University.

Dan McNickol, SR/WA Joins ORC U&I

Dan McNickol, SR/WA

ORC Utility & Infrastructure Land Services, LLC is pleased to announce the addition of Dan McNickol, SR/WA, to oversee projects in Virginia and West Virginia. An accomplished Right-of-Way Professional with more than 30 years in the industry, Dan began his career (1986) in the pipeline sector as an entry level Agent with Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation (TETCO) and was promoted to Rights-of-Way & Land Supervisor of the South Division in 2000.

After moving on from TETCO, he held supervisory positions in the pipeline (Panhandle Energy), midstream gas & oil (Chesapeake Energy), & electric transmission line (Duke Energy) sectors.

In 2010, Dan joined Denbury Resources in Plano, Texas, as a Right-of-Way Project Manager where he was responsible for all phases of right-of-way acquisition for pipeline projects in the Rockies Region (Wyoming, Montana & North Dakota).

ORC U&I Awarded On-Call PSA with the International Transmission Company (ITC)

COLUMBUS, OH – ORC Utilities & Infrastructure Land Services, LLC (ORC U&I) has been awarded its first on-call professional services agreement with the International Transmission Company (ITC) for the provision of right-of-way acquisition services. The contract will be effective from December 2015. For ORC U&I, the award represents the culmination of months of relationship building, and a long-awaited presence established in Michigan.

“We’re really looking forward to working with ITC. This contract is the first phase of what we hope will be a very productive relationship with them. We’re also very pleased to have the opportunity to establish the ORC U&I brand in Michigan,” says ORC U&I Director Richard McNally. “We’re not yet sure of the specific scope of the contract, but we’re prepared to provide appraisal, negotiations, title research and closing services.”

ORC U&I Wins Contract with Tennessee Valley Authority

COLUMBUS, OH – ORC Utilities & Infrastructure (ORC U&I) has been awarded a 5 year agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) for the provision of Preliminary Title Notes, Abstracts, and Buying services. The five-year contract will be effective from October 2015 through September 2020, with a TVA option for 2021 and 2022.

ORC U&I Continues Growth

COLUMBUS, OH – ORC Utilities & Infrastructure (ORC U&I) has continued its rapid growth in the electric and natural gas sectors by adding the following projects in 2015.

AEP – Charleston Area Improvement Project
AEP Transmission will construct 7 miles of overhead and underground transmission lines, connecting 5 different substations. The goal of this project is to enhance and reinforce reliability of the downtown Charleston underground transmission grid. The project is scheduled to start in June 2015, and ORC will acquire 155 easements in support of it.

Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC (Oncor): Permian Basin – Culberson 138kv, Reeves and Ward Counties, TX
Oncor has proposed to construct a double circuit 138kv electric transmission line on steel monopoles, interconnecting the existing Permian Basin Switching Station located in Ward County with the existing Culberson Switching Station located in Culberson County. The proposed line will be almost 100 miles in length and traverse across 194 parcels in West Texas. ORC U&I will provide turnkey acquisition services, including project management, title/abstract, easement acquisitions, and construction support.

Vectren Energy Z-167 South Hydrostatic Test Project – Tipp City, Ohio
ORC will acquire several temporary staging areas in support of the Z-167 South Hydrostatic Test Project. Vectren’s construction team will use this land to stage equipment and material as they test the existing 12’ gas main.

Tennessee Valley Authority – Spencer 161kv Delivery Point & Rickman 161 kV Transmission
ORC will be complete 40 abstracts for TVA in Spencer, TN for the new Spencer 161kv transmission line project. ORC will also complete 34 preliminary title notes and 34 abstracts for TVA in Rickman, TN for the new Rickman 161kv transmission line project.
