Austin, TX – O. R. Colan Associates, LLC (ORC) proudly announces Jaylia Travis, CFM of our Austin, TX office as the International Right-of-Way Association (IRWA), Region 2, Young Professional of the Year.

The IRWA’s Young Professionals Group (YPG) is designed for beginning right-of-way professionals who want to become more actively involved in the association, while further enhancing their industry-specific skills. Guided by the International Nominations and Elections Committee, the IRWA began formally acknowledging the contributions made by Young Professionals within the organization. Foundationally, members of the Young Professionals Group are encouraged to come together in support of each other, promote the IRWA and Young Professionals program to non-members, and fully explore the opportunities offered by the right-of-way industry.

Jaylia joined ORC’s Junior Agent Program in Austin, TX, following her 2017 graduation from Texas State University-San Marcos. She has since enjoyed a wide range of opportunities working on both Public Sector and Utility projects. Specifically, Jaylia has been assigned to numerous TxDOT projects, and she has also worked with several utility clients, including the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), American Electric Power (AEP) and Gulf Interstate Engineering (GIE).

In addition to her impressive project experience, Jaylia recently earned her Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) certification, a national designation recognizing the commitment to continued education and professional development that enhances the knowledge and performance of local, state, federal and private sector floodplain management professionals.

“Since Jaylia has worked with ORC, she has excelled at every task and learned far more than an agent with a mere two years under her belt. I know I can assign any task or project to Jaylia and she will master it in record time. She has a desire to learn, excel, take charge and a focus that is rarely found,” said Sunshine Vanover, Project Manager.
