Portland, OR – O. R. Colan Associates, LLC, (ORC) is excited to announce the selection of ORC as 2018 Employer of the Year (20 or More Employees) by the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) at the International conference held in Portland, Oregon.
The Employer of the Year Award recognizes associate companies which actively support their employees as IRWA members. The recipients demonstrate a strong employee support and commitment at the chapter, regional and international levels of the Association in terms of participation, financing, time allowance, facilities, service, etc.
Over 60% of ORC’s Right-of-Way (ROW) staff are members of IRWA. ORC supports its employees to be involved in the Association; attending meetings, conferences and events; taking courses, and serving on committees. ORC has been a member and sponsor with the IRWA for over 30 years. ORC employees have spoken at local, regional, and national conferences, taught IRWA seminars, and participated in local Chapter events and committees in addition to serving as officers of the local Chapters.
Under a licensing agreement with IRWA, ORC has delivered 6 online training courses for the IRWA Online University. In 2019, ORC completed and delivered “The Business Move Process” and began developing “The 1-2-3’s of Managing a ROW Project”. IRWA sold 178 ORC online developed courses in 2018 and 832 courses to date. The five 500 series courses are the only online relocation courses available to members for recertification credit. Lisa Barnes, Bob Merryman and Steve Chastain of ORC are IRWA CLIMB certified instructors who are often invited to participate in panels at the Annual Conference and both Bob and Lisa are active in the Relocation CoP.
