Our Commitment to Growth and People-First Philosophy

At ORC, we believe that our greatest asset is our people. This belief is deeply embedded in our company’s DNA and is reflected in our innovative approach to people strategy. By prioritizing the well-being and development of our employees, we create an environment where everyone can thrive and contribute to our collective success.

Celebrating Our Achievements

We are proud to announce that an ORC employee has recently won the People Success Visionary of the Year award. This prestigious award highlights our ongoing efforts to:

  • Attract and Retain Top Talent: We are committed to creating a workplace that attracts the best and brightest minds. A people-first approach ensures our team members feel supported, valued, and motivated to achieve their full potential. We offer a $500 bonus for employee referrals that lead to a successful hire. Additionally, our comprehensive internal training program is designed to meet the technical, industry, and soft skill development needs of our employees.

  • Innovate in People Strategy: We continuously seek new ways to enhance our people practices, from professional development opportunities to inclusive workplace initiatives. Our goal is to stay ahead of the curve and set new standards in the HR space. We use a learning and development platform that serves as a central knowledgebase, includes an effective onboarding pathway experience, and provides technical and soft skill courses so you always have what you need, when you need it, in the flow of work. We also embrace a continuous feedback culture, set goals annually, and offer a leadership development program for emerging leaders.

  • Foster a Collaborative Culture: Collaboration and teamwork are at the heart of everything we do. We believe that by working together, we can achieve greater heights and drive meaningful change within our industry. ORC has various reward and recognition programs that offer peer-to-peer and monetary recognition. Employees can choose how they like to be recognized, which fosters a sense of appreciation and motivation within teams.

Our People-First Philosophy

Knowledge is one of five core ORC values that drive business success, and learning is at the core of what we do. In a world of ongoing and rapid change, organizations are facing many challenges related to finding qualified talent in a niche market, employee retention, and an aging workforce. We see these challenges as an opportunity to continually strengthen our learning and development (L&D) efforts across our company.

When designing our internal training program, we aimed to make it comprehensive of technical, industry, and soft skill development needed to be successful in our business. We are a people-first organization, and this is reflected in the people strategies and programs implemented at ORC.

ORC’s Internal Training Program

Our internal training program was developed to meet the following objectives:

  • Expand our recruiting pool for qualified talent in a scarce and niche talent market.

  • Accelerate second career hire development within a 3–6-month timeline to meet the technical needs of our clients and projects, as well as to meet our own high standard for industry competence.

  • Provide career pathing opportunities to engage and retain our employees using individual development plans (IDPs) for upward, diagonal, or lateral moves.

  • Develop future leaders from within to ensure operational continuity throughout project lifecycles.

  • Retain institutional knowledge in an aging workforce utilizing effective knowledge sharing strategies.

  • Demonstrate our organization cares about our employees from hire to retire.

Our training program supports broader people strategies, which are key cornerstones for employee retention.

Grow Your Career with ORC’s 3E Learning Model

At ORC, we’re committed to your growth through a holistic approach to learning. We recognize real development happens when learning is integrated into daily experiences. That’s why we use the 3E model for learning:

  • Experience: You’ll grow by doing. From leading projects to tackling new challenges on the job, experiential learning allows you to apply new skills in real-world situations. This is where about 70% of learning happens.

  • Exposure: Learning from others is key. Mentorship, peer collaboration, and continuous feedback ensure you’re growing in an environment that values shared knowledge. We recommend about 20% of your learning in this area.

  • Education: Structured learning experiences like workshops, courses, and on-demand training provide the foundation of knowledge needed to thrive in your role. This drives 10% of learning.

At ORC, your growth is embedded into everything we do. Here’s how we support your development every step of the way:

  • Comprehensive Career Paths: Clear development opportunities for roles like Agent, Assistant Project Manager, and Project Managers, each with well-defined technical and soft skill growth areas.

  • Individual Development Plans (IDPs): Tailored to support both technical skill-building and leadership development while tracking your progress to ensure you’re on the right path.

  • Innovative Tools: ORC Academy is our learning platform offering a wide range of content, from role-specific training to skill development courses, while our people management system, Lattice, enables continuous feedback and 1:1s with your manager.

  • Guiding Leadership: Our leaders act as passengers on your career journey, offering guidance, feedback, and course corrections while you take the driver’s seat in shaping your development and career path.

Plus, we’re dedicated to a smooth onboarding experience that sets you up for success from day one, including role-based training plans, client manuals, SOPs, and access to job aids.
